Premiums for new windows and doors
New windows or an exterior door improve comfort and energy performance. Depending on your income, home and application date, you may still be entitled to Flemish support or the reduced VAT rate.

The target group for My Renovation Premium has become smaller
Owner-occupiers from income categories 3 and 4 and landlords to a housing association retain possible support for windows and doors. For applications from March 1, 2026, owner-occupiers from categories 1 and 2 and other investors will no longer receive a premium within this category.

Your income alone is not enough. The building, invoices, glazing and ventilation are also assessed.

Age of the house
The building must have been connected to the electricity grid before January 1, 2006 or, according to the land registry, must have been put into use for the first time before that date.

Execution and invoice
The works must have been carried out entirely by a contractor. You will need a final invoice with Belgian VAT when applying.

Glass and ventilation
The glazing must meet the imposed insulation value. When replacing exterior carpentry, a ventilation requirement also applies.

One application every five years
For the same home, you can only receive a new premium for the windows and doors category every five years.

When renovating a home that is at least 10 years old, 6% instead of 21% VAT may apply under certain conditions. After the works, the house must be used mainly for private purposes.

Who is eligible for My Renovation Premium for windows and doors in 2026?
For applications from March 1, 2026, support for windows and doors lies with owner-occupiers from income categories 3 and 4 and with landlords to a housing company. From that date, owner-occupiers from categories 1 and 2 and other investors will no longer receive a premium for this category. The home and the works must also meet the technical conditions.
How much is the premium for windows and doors?
According to the Flemish conditions for applications in 2026, category 4 can receive up to 50% of the investment excluding VAT, with a maximum of 5,250 euros. For category 3 this is up to 35%, with a maximum of 3,675 euros. The official counter determines the final amount.
Can I combine a premium with the VAT rate of 6%?
This is possible in certain renovations, but both schemes have their own conditions. A home that is at least 10 years old that is mainly used privately after the works can be eligible for 6% VAT under certain conditions. Check your specific situation with Flanders and the FPS Finance.
